Visiting Professor
Dr Raj Nangia graduated from University of London (BSc & PhD) in Aeronautical Engineering. He worked with Hawker Siddeley, British Aerospace and at University of Bristol. He was involved with high profile aircraft development projects e.g. Hawk, Concorde, Harrier & ASTOVL Developments, EAP, Eurofighter (Typhoon), Advanced SST, Blended Wing bodies, Civil & Military Intake Developments, HALE & UCAV's, and Hypersonics. For the past 25+ years he has been a consulting engineer for different customers including BAE SYSTEMS, Airbus, Rolls Royce, USAF, DTI, QinetiQ and DSTL. Currently, he is a senior advisor to aircraft aerodynamics group at DSTL, an Honorary Fellow of RAeS, Associate Fellow of AIAA & Chartered Engineer, and the Chairman & Committee of RAeS Applied Aerodynamics conferences. He is a Member of AIAA Product Support – Special Purpose Aircraft Committee as well as a Member of several International task groups of the NATO-STO-AVT panel. Dr Nangia aims to support final year aerospace engineering students through the full design process of a new aircraft, with particular focus on sustainable and green options and applying industry-based approaches to design.
