There have been five cohorts of Africa Catalyst awardees to date, find out more about their achievements for each phase below.
Africa Catalyst Phase 5
Africa Catalyst is supporting six projects in five countries this year, with ODA funding under the UK government’s new International Science Partnership Fund.
Africa Catalyst Phase 4
In October 2022, eight projects were awarded as part of Africa Catalyst Phase 4. Each project duration was six months.
Africa Catalyst Phase 3
In October 2019, ten projects were awarded funding as part of Phase 3. These projects ranged from one to two years in length.
Africa Catalyst Phase 2
In December 2017 Phase 2 of GCRF Africa Catalyst was launched. This second phase supported eight projects across sub-Saharan Africa, ranging from one to three years in length.
Africa Catalyst Pilot
From December 2016 until June/July 2017, the Academy supported 15 pilot projects under GCRF Africa Catalyst.
Sustainable Infrastructure
The purpose of this call was to build the capacity of engineering practice and policy to integrate, build on and improve the landscape for sustainable and resilient infrastructure in East Africa.
