Professor Raul Vázquez Díaz is a world-leading aerospace engineer at Rolls-Royce who is internationally recognised for pioneering advances in gas turbine aerodynamics that have significantly improved engine efficiency, reduced emissions, and enabled more sustainable aviation. He has shaped corporate aerothermal strategy, advanced propulsion performance, and developed sovereign UK research capability. As Chair of EUROTURBO and advisor to national strategic panels, he has guided industry direction and policy. As lead of the Rolls-Royce Aerothermal UTC network, he has driven international collaboration, delivered major research infrastructure, and represented UK aerospace at the highest level through keynote lectures and flagship global events.
