Professor Dino Distefano is recognised for his major contributions to automatic source code verification and program analysis. He co-invented Infer, the industry-leading open-source static analysis tool, which is deployed at Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft and elsewhere. He developed automatic privacy analysis tools that help WhatsApp programmers develop code, preserving the privacy of the over 2.5 billion WhatsApp users. He has also contributed to reinforcement learning, targeting semantic code reasoning in Anthropic‘s frontier large language models.
