Professor Danielle George, currently Chief Scientific Adviser National Security, is an internationally renowned expert in radio frequency engineering and microwave communications. She also has a stellar profile for public engagement, presenting the Royal Institution Christmas lectures in 2014, winning the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Rooke Award in 2016, and being awarded a CBE in the 2024 New Year Honours for services to public engagement in engineering. From an early career at Jodrell Bank Observatory, she became a lecturer at the University of Manchester then Professor and subsequently Vice Dean of Engineering where, as well as continuing impactful research, she revolutionised teaching and led the university on AI and digital learning.
