Professor Clemens Kaminski has made seminal contributions to the development and application of innovative optical sensing technologies for applications ranging from clean energy technologies to biomedical research. His methods are widely used in the aerospace and automotive industries and in the pharmaceutical sector. He holds significant leadership roles, including as Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge, Director of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Sensor Technologies, and as co-founder of initiatives promoting sensor technologies in low- to middle-income countries and among underrepresented groups.
