Alastair Donaldson is a Professor in the Department of Computing at Imperial College London, where he serves as Director of Research and leads the FastPL Group. He is internationally recognised for his contributions to programming languages, automated software testing and formal verification. He has pioneered novel techniques that aid in the engineering of reliable software for parallel computer systems and critical software infrastructure. His work has had significant industrial impact. He was Founder and Director of GraphicsFuzz Ltd., a spinout company that was acquired by Google in 2018. He has also contributed to industrial programming language standards. His research has been recognised by numerous international awards, he has published more than 100 articles in the fields of programming languages, formal verification, software testing and parallel programming, and has made substantial service and outreach contributions to the programming languages and software engineering communities.
