Dr Loubna Bouarfa is a pioneering machine learning engineer bridging AI and governance. Following the successful acquisition of her life sciences AI company, OKRA.ai, she launched FactTrace. Building on decades of signal processing research, she engineers elegant, lightweight semantical fingerprints to establish persistent data provenance. By barcoding meaning itself, this foundational infrastructure tracks semantic mutations as data flows through global networks, enabling real-time verification and massive-scale filtering of different types of content. A champion of responsible technology, she shaped European Commission AI policy, guides strategy at the University of Oxford, and mentors future engineering leaders at Cambridge.
