Dr Frank Haselbach has made enormous contributions to the aerospace industry throughout his career – first at Rolls-Royce and now at Airbus. His engineering insight and leadership have been directly responsible for numerous engineering achievements that have led to the success of Rolls-Royce and Airbus products. Dr Haselbach led the compressor redesign and certification for a specific Rolls-Royce Trent engine, innovatively researching fan acoustic and unsteady pressure characteristics in a first-of-type campaign with inflight measurements of the phenomenon and redesign validation. He was the engineering lead for Rolls-Royce’s response to the ash cloud from the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull eruption. He has also engaged the global aerospace community as President of the International Society for Air-Breathing Engines, ISABE, and through senior industry roles.
