Former Chief Industry Officer, Sustainable Markets Initiative; former Senior Business Advisor to the Chair and CEO, bp
Dr Chan Boodhai is a global energy leader with over 20 years’ experience. She was recently the Chief Industry Officer at the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI), which was founded by His Majesty King Charles III. She led on formalising the partnership between SMI and the Academy. Formerly, she was bp’s engineering director where she led engineering managers and developed procedures and policies for bp’s global operations. She has been responsible for running engineering projects and operations of significant scale and technical complexity. She was the senior advisor to bp’s chair and CEO, which gave her unique insights into the implementation of the energy transition. She is passionate about developing women in STEM and mentors several young people. She is a Fellow of the Energy Institute and the Institution of Chemical Engineers.
