What do the International Partnerships team do?
-
The Academy has a global outlook, and our work recognises this. We know engineers have an essential role to play in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges – and achieving this relies on the transnational flow of goods, services, knowledge and people. Our work facilitates this, focusing on global issues such as climate change, the road to net zero, and harnessing technology for good.
-
We develop and maintain relations with other national engineering academies, promoting knowledge exchange through thought leadership workshops. We also promote the UK’s global position in engineering, representing the country at international engineering organisations such as: the International Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences (CAETS), and the European Council of Academies of Applied Sciences, Technologies and Engineering (Euro-CASE).
How do we do this?
We work closely with other national academies, and UK experts from academia, industry, and policy, fostering international collaboration. This allows us to meet our aims of:
- mobilising the global engineering community to address global challenges
- learning from international expertise to inform, challenge and refresh Academy work
- stimulating effective research and innovation partnerships
This work is carried out through bilateral and broader international collaborations, you can find out more information about our activities below.
