Aleida Rios FREng, Senior Vice President of Engineering at BP and Chair of the Royal Academy of Engineering Diversity and Inclusion Committee, will be joined by Dr Sundiatu Dixon-Fyle, Senior Fellow at the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI), for a thought-provoking conversation exploring diversity and inclusion best practice.
Alongside exploring ‘what works’, Aleida and Sundiatu will also start the conversation around our diversity and inclusion theme for 2023: Engineering Inclusive Cultures understanding how culture is critical for sustaining our people and practice.

Dr Sundiatu Dixon-Fyle
Dr Sundiatu Dixon-Fyle is Senior Expert, Diversity Equity and Inclusion at McKinsey & Company. Sundiatu is a global thought leader and advocate on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), leading high-impact research and supporting clients to realise the DEI opportunity for their organisations, the business world, the economy, and wider society. Sundiatu is a “go-to” Firm and global expert on the business, economic and organisational opportunity from DEI, having co-led major research efforts including Diversity Matters, the Firm’s most-cited diversity research, and engaged extensively internally and externally with clients and Firm colleagues.
Aleida Rios FREng
Aleida leads the centre of discipline engineering expertise which houses the most senior engineers and engineering technical authorities in bp. She is accountable for enabling bp’s energy transition to deliver on resilient hydrocarbons and scale up of renewables businesses through engineering solutions. Aleida chairs the heads of engineering forum which represents the company’s more than 3000 practicing discipline engineers. Prior to her current role, Aleida served as Vice President of Operations for the Gulf of Mexico and Vice President for bp’s Lower 48 business.
