Professor Catriona Savage has risen quickly within the naval architecture profession, making an impact in industry, academia and the professional institutions. Her breadth of contribution ranges from her own work in naval ship design and nuclear submarine safety; through the operational and strategic leadership of design and consulting teams in military vessels; to her contribution in modernising the Royal Institution of Naval Architects.

She has recently directed UCL’s MSc in Naval Architecture and its internationally renowned submarine design course. She is currently President of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects and Chair of the Board of Trustees. She was the first woman in all her senior appointments and is a natural role model.
