Dr Andrew Mackintosh has a distinguished career leading and supporting organisations that are at the forefront of scaling up and commercialising new technology.

As CEO of Oxford Instruments plc, he led innovations in advanced materials and instrumentation for several different industrial sectors from semiconductors to healthcare. More recently he has focused on leading high-growth technology companies as chair, as well as managing early-stage funds that invest in this sector.

He is the author of the government’s Mackintosh Report, which led directly to the creation of the new Government Office for Technology Transfer (GOTT), where he is a member of the Advisory Board.
