Storm Rhoda
Storm Rhoda is an engineering student with a focus on developing impactful, technology-driven solutions to address critical social challenges. Currently completing his bachelors degree in Robotics, he has a strong foundation in electronics, software design, and AI. As the founder and CEO of African Intelligent Machines (AIM), his work has expanded into industries such as recycling, gas, and retail. In addition to his role at AIM, he has designed an AI model for pneumonia detection that earned national and international recognition at science expositions. His goal is to leverage these technical skills to empower marginalised communities through accessible, innovative technological solutions.
Through AIM, Storm has developed an innovative technology integrating advanced embedded hardware with a user-friendly software, enabling micro-small buy-back centres to quantify recyclable materials precisely. This both opens the doors to crucial funding opportunities and improves operational efficiency, ensuring fair compensation for waste collectors. By integrating real-time pricing from partnering off-takers, AIM also ensures that waste pickers and micro-small buy-back centres are fairly compensated for their collected materials. Additionally, the system captures real-time data, creating a transparent audit trail throughout the entire value chain.
