Project overview
To transform our energy systems to meet climate change targets it is vital that new technologies are rapidly developed. One solution is the use of ceramic oxides in solid oxide cells (SOCs) to produce green hydrogen. These SOCs operate at high temperature and over extended times, so lifetime and durability are key engineering considerations. In this project you will prepare simple single cells, expose these to thermal treatment, determining if there is any materials degradation and link these changes with the electrochemical performance of the cells.
