Research Fellowships 2023
Dr Neale’s project will embed highly conductive metal pins in fibre-reinforced plastics (non-conductive) to make them conductive. It will pay particular attention to energy transfer, such as heat or electricity, through the component’s thickness. Overcoming this conductivity barrier will help prioritise reinforced plastics over metals in transport structures, reducing weight and fuel consumption to help to achieve net zero.
