Application process
Applications will be assessed through a two-stage application process:
Applications must be submitted by the applicant via the Academy’s online grant management system.
Applicant guidance notes to support you in completing the expression of interest can be downloaded on the right-hand side of this page. We recommend reading the guidance notes in full before starting your application.
These are no restrictions on the number of applications an organisation can submit.
How to complete the expression of interest
Once you have logged in to the grant management system, the application form can be found in the ‘start application’ section under ‘Green Future Fellowships: expression of interest'.
The expression of interest asks applicants to provide information on their proposed innovation or technology under the following categories:
- Candidate’s motivation and expression
- Innovation and novelty
- Impact on climate mitigation and/or adaptation
- Routes to success: impact and value
- Long-term vision and sustainability
Expressions of interest should clearly address the following:
- Clear and concise information on what the proposed technology or innovation is
- Clear articulation of the routes to market, consideration of the commercialisation plans and scalability of the innovation for widespread use
- Consideration and awareness of potential collaborators or industry partners
- Details around the overall potential impact of the innovation including an awareness of potential customers or end-users
- Evidence of an understanding of the existing technology landscape and how the proposed innovation/solution integrates or builds upon this including an awareness of potential competitors
- Relevance of the innovation and its potential to deliver impact that clearly benefits the UK.
At any stage in the application process, you can save your work and return to it later. You can answer the questions in any order you like, so you may skip some sections to return to later if you wish. We recommend viewing the application early on to understand what is required.
