Dr Michael O'Connor

Mick is founder of HAELO Consulting, a company specialising in developing software to increase operational effectiveness and governance, risk and compliance sense making within financial services organisations.  40 years’ experience in space, aerospace, shipbuilding, oil, petrochemical, defence, aviation, energy and utilities.  Currently Programme Director of Prestwick Spaceport, Institute of Directors lead Chartered Director Ambassador for Scotland and Collector of the Glasgow Incorporation of Hammermen. In May 2023, Mick founded second company Fire Arrow to enable safe, responsive and affordable access to space.  Mick will help students prepare for the opportunities and challenges of working in today’s innovation driven enterprises equipping them with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to succeed.  A Visiting Professor in Employability, Entrepreneurship, Enterprise, and Engineering Management.
