Space Engineers was an exciting project led by a diverse team of 30 volunteer Engineers, with 400 Girl Guides from Kent working towards earning a 'Space Engineers' Girlguiding badge on this unforgettable STEM-themed mission. The project allowed the girls to use their problem-solving and engineering skills within a Moon Base - a series of domes and tunnels that provided an immersive 'escape room' style experience.
The girls 'applied' to be space engineers and then travelled to the Moon Base, only to find they were needed to help with an emergency. They were led through the Moon Base by volunteer engineers, solving engineering-themed problems to restore the Moon Base. Over 30 engineers from diverse backgrounds were recruited and trained to help develop the engineering challenges and support the girls in earning their Space Engineers badge.
