The Centre for Enzyme Innovation at the University of Portsmouth focused on developing biotechnological solutions as a low carbon and low-energy solution for recycling plastic waste in a circular economy. The aim was to inspire young people by promoting the diverse role of engineering. This was achieved through co-design puppetry workshops between engineers from the University of Portsmouth and the Portsmouth Young Carers Centre, along with The Makers Guild, Making Theatre, and secondary school students. A showcase event at Portsmouth Guildhall and online performances engaged the regional, national, and international public with the event.
