The young maritime recruits discovered the importance of ship-building within the history of Belfast and Northern Ireland, the significance of global shipping in the modern world, and its environmental impact. The programme developed the public engagement skills of participating engineers, showcased engineering within the maritime sector, and provided an exciting and fun series of activities for all participants. This culminated in the inaugural 'Ingenious Cardboard Regatta,' featuring engineering activities and opportunities for families and the public to engage with maritime experts.
