The project developed student engineers' confidence and public engagement skills while increasing primary school children's engagement in and understanding of engineering. The project delivered immersive drama engineering workshops in a fictional makerspace, where children and parents solved engineering challenges and heard from a diverse group of engineers. At the end of the project, the children and their parents undertook a treasure hunt with engineers through the campus engineering laboratories. The children, parents, and teachers co-produced the project, embedding the core message that engineering is for everyone in their community.
