The circular organic agriculture model (COAM) is pioneer in circular economy in agriculture in Vietnam. COAM is an innovative approach that keeps the nutrient cycle as closed as possible for both environment and agricultural benefit, whilst making use of modern technology and know-how. All waste streams are used as profitable inputs in this closed cycle. The outputs are high quality food and agricultural products from the farm.

The COAM has proven its sustainability in its application in the farm of our company:

1. Economic benefits:
• Cutting 28% animal feed cost, 40% organic fertilizer cost, 50% watering amount at the small scale farming.
• Enhancing economic efficiency: Most agriculture products of the model have higher market values by at least 1.5 times than conventional farming. The model also brings at least 03 product categories from livestock, plant and fertilizer that boosts farmer’s income and reduces wide swing of farm income from such uncertainties.

2. Environmental benefits:
• Zero – waste farming: no wastewater, no solid waste, and reduction of 9.96 tCO2/year at the scale of 200 pig heads/year.
• The soil ecosystem improvement: The model uses organic fertilizer and biological pesticides instead of chemical fertilizers and chemical pesticides.

3. Social benefits:
• COAM is a friendly approach with farmers in rural and remote areas of Vietnam thanks to their feasibility, simple and applicable operation, low operating cost and less uncertainties.
• COAM produce safe food that meet the requirement of Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices."
