Siddhant Tawarawala (India) - CEO Peeschute
We have designed a plug and play urinal setup which can be installed anywhere without plumbing and drainage needs. The cubicles are durable made of thick sheets made from compressing plastic waste. The ease of installing urinal can enable mass installations and help in reusing urine into barren lands. Urine gets collected into leak proof compostable bags consisting of organic polymers which converts urine into an odourless gel, making it easy for transportation and reuse.
The compostable bags are sealed bags with organic absorbing polymers filled into it. Without using an ounce of water this system reduces 95% odor which helps in water conservation. The urinal pot is designed in a way such that no single drop of urine stays on the surface, and everything gets collected into sealed bags which reduces the probability of infections and diseases. With a capacity of 200-250 times of urination the bags can hold up to 40 liters of urine in one go. Once the capacity is full waste pickers are notified for replacing the bags.
The organic polymer used for solidification is 100% compostable and biodegradable. Its water retention property can hold the urine liquid up to few weeks and can be dumped in dry deserts when it releases its water content. In this way we attempt to reuse the urine and improve fertility rates of desserts, dry lands or barren lands."
