The Medal is awarded to an Academy Fellow who has contributed significantly to the Academy's aims and work through initiatives in promoting excellence in engineering.
The recipient of the President's Medal will be selected by the Royal Academy of Engineering's Awards Committee.
The Award consists of a medal and will normally be awarded annually. The Medal will not be awarded if in any year the Academy so decides.
Nominations must provide the following information:
- Details of the nominee.
- Citation of not more than 500 words describing the nominee's achievements.
- A CV of no more than two pages should be attached, relevant to the award.
- Letters of support from two referees. At least one of the referees should be from outside the nominee's organisation. The nominator should not be one of the referees.
Self-nominations are not accepted, however, if you are interested in this award but do not know of anyone to nominate you, please contact the Academy.
Only completed nominations will be considered. Please ensure that the nomination form is complete with CV and letters of support at the time of submission.
Each nominator can submit up to three nominations in any one year for the Award.
For the President’s Medal, nominations can only be made by Academy Fellows and only Academy Fellows can be nominated.
Submissions must arrive no later than 5pm on Wednesday 25 October 2023.
