Chair in Emerging Technologies 2018
Professor McInnes is beginning to explore a range of new space technologies at extremes of spacecraft length-scale, from micro-to-macro. These include swarms of micro-scale ‘smart dust’ sensors to macro-scale gossamer structures manufactured in-orbit. These new technologies at extremes of length-scale will provide opportunities to imagine and develop a range of exciting new commercial space services for the future.
