Mary Phillips

Mary Phillips is an impact-driven entrepreneur, determined to create positive change to communities and the environment through her work. Having been involved in entrepreneurship since a teenager, she has a keen appreciation for the social, environmental and economic impact that novel innovation can have. Since beginning her own venture in 2012, she has fixated on achieving lasting social impact through engineering innovation.

Her startup, #TWT Smart App, is disrupting the waste sector by digitally bridging the gap between waste generators and collectors across the entire waste ecosystem. This not only diverts more waste away from landfills, but optimises resources and their productivity, and increases the efficiency and economic feasibility of recycling and waste management.
