BAMBUHAY have developed the world's first plantable toothbrush that can be grown into a tree after three months of use, embedded with the seed of a tree native to the country of distribution.
As an example, in the Philippines the native tree seeds embedded are Acacia, Bamboo, Pine Tree, Mamalis and Wild Berry. The bristles of the brush are soft, natural, carbon-infused strands made from bio based materials, with the ongoing product development seeking to a develop bamboo fibre-based bristle. The product's handle and casing are made entirely from bamboo, heat-finished to prevent the growth of mould, and come with unglued packaging to to make the product 100% plastic free.
