Beth Fitzpatrick
Beth is a Systems Engineer and Principal Consultant at AtkinsRéalis, where she helps to solve problems in technology, security and defence. Wanting to keep her options open at A-Level, initially studying sciences, history and Spanish, Beth decided to study a four-year undergraduate Master’s course in Physics at Loughborough University. She then joined the industry as a Systems Engineer and has enjoyed applying her skills to many different projects. This has included an international secondment in Germany working on armoured vehicles, and using data science in the cyber domain. Beth loves encouraging anyone and everyone that a career in STEM could be for them – whatever their skillset, from low level mechanical detail to engaging with people about their problems!

Dr Amina Hamoud
Dr Hamoud is a Lecturer in Systems Engineering at the University of the West of England and teaches a variety of subjects relating to systems engineering, agent-based modelling, system design, control, automation and transport systems across different programmes. She co-leads on Bristol Robotics Laboratory Connected & Autonomous Vehicles research group where she leads several projects around AI and transport. Prior to joining UWE Bristol, Amina worked as a Research Engineer for an Automotive Consultancy where her focus was towards developing safe Autonomous Vehicles and Intelligent Transport Systems while completing her PHD at Loughborough University in the same area. She also holds a Bachelor (BSc) in Maths and Computer science, MSc in Telecommunications and Networks Systems, an MRes in Image Processing and Computer Vision and has worked in Tech and Software for years prior across different countries.
