The aim of our resources is to inspire the next generation of engineers by showcasing how STEM skills can positively impact society.
Created by engineers and scientists at University College London, Lightsaver explores the real-world applications of using light to diagnose and monitor the health of infants. The resource investigates light through four interdisciplinary STEM activities:
- What is light?
- Behaviour of light
- Light and the body
- Light and the brain
- Finger on the pulse
Students explore the world of engineering and learn about the diverse roles engineers play while developing essential transferable skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and social awareness.
This resource includes a teacher guide and student booklet, plus a set of four supporting video guides for teachers to deliver activities.
