What does the Engineering Diplomacy Hub do?
-
The Engineering Diplomacy Hub is a trusted platform for dialogue and learning at the intersection of engineering and geopolitics. Utilising the Academy’s unique and prestigious national and global network, we provide comprehensive advice, insight, training and thought leadership to help address international and geopolitics challenges with a strong engineering dimension.
-
We develop and maintain relations with other national engineering academies, promoting knowledge exchange through thought leadership workshops. We also promote the UK’s global position in engineering, representing the country at international engineering organisations such as: the International Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences (CAETS), and the European Council of Academies of Applied Sciences, Technologies and Engineering (Euro-CASE).
How do we do this?
We work closely with other national academies alongside UK experts from academia, industry, and policy, fostering international collaboration. This work is carried out through bilateral and broader international collaborations on global challenges including net zero, critical technologies and critical infrastructure. This allows us to meet our aims of:
- Being a trusted forum for discussions at the interface of engineering and geopolitics, with tools to build evidence, insights and networks to help the UK solve their most pressing problems.
- Drawing upon our Fellowship and broader global network to provide advice, insight, training and thought leadership on global engineering and technology challenges to stakeholders.
- Obtaining, synthesising and interpreting international insight to benefit Academy products.
