Professor Timothy Lieuwen has made outstanding contributions to clean energy and propulsion systems, and development of energy systems using renewable fuels. He has fostered international clean energy collaborations through fundamental knowledge development and impactful publications, application of patented technologies, public service and policy impact, and international engagements and collaboration. His interests lie in clean energy and propulsion systems, energy policy, acoustics, fluid mechanics and combustion. He works closely with industry and government, focusing particularly on fundamental problems that arise out of the development of clean combustion systems or use of alternative fuels.
