Professor Timothy Denison is a bioengineer who is internationally recognised for his development of bioelectronic systems to restore function to damaged or diseased neural networks in patients. He has not only made world-leading academic innovations, but through his leadership in industry has enabled these to be commercialised, meaning that hundreds of thousands of patients now benefit from these developments. His latest work developing ‘collaborative platforms’ for neuroscience discovery and translation is providing better and more flexible tools for experimental medicine, advancing the creation of future therapies.
