Professor Philip Taylor is internationally renowned in the design of energy systems, especially for renewable energy and smart grids. His controller designs are used around the world, and he designed the grid connection for the UK’s first commercial offshore wind farm. Of the many projects he has undertaken, of particular note is the UK's largest ever smart grid project, the £54 million Customer Led Network Revolution, which took a socio-technical approach to demonstrating smart grids at full scale. As well as his role at the University of Bath, he currently leads the EPSRC £20 million Centre for Energy Systems Integration and the £10 million EPSRC Supergen Energy Networks Hub.
