Simon Bowen FREng 

Nuclear Industry Advisor to the Prime Minister and Secretary of State. 

Simon Bowen is a very experienced engineer and leader. With a career as an engineer in nuclear submarines, oil and gas, renewable energy and UK civil and defence nuclear, he has delivered success in a wide range of engineering disciplines. An energetic champion of diversity and safety, he leads from the front and remains a practical hands-on engineer, always out in the field. He retired in January 2022 after leading Babcock’s nuclear business where he was responsible for the provision of support to the national deterrent, a hugely demanding and vital role and delivery of a critical package of work at Hinkley Point C nuclear power station project. In May 2022 he was appointed as the Nuclear Industry Advisor to the Prime Minister and Secretary of State leading the set up of Great British Nuclear which will lead the programme of new nuclear projects to provide energy security to the UK.
