Professor Roger Woods is an inspirational leader in research who throughout his career, has demonstrated a flair for entrepreneurship and innovation. He has commercialised his work with major industrial partners either by successfully creating advanced microchips or programmable hardware solutions for data and signal processing. More recently, he has diversified into data analytics and co-founded his own company, judged to be ‘shaking up Ireland’s data science scene’. Roger has translated his creativity and passion across to students by creating an innovative entrepreneurship module and acting as a role model for engineering graduates who look to turn knowledge into business.
