Professor Guangwen Xu FREng (China)

Distinguished for his academic leadership and pioneering work in the field of chemical engineering, Professor Guangwen Xu has made significant research contributions to several innovative thermochemical conversion processes related to product-directive or/and process-intensified use of fossil and renewable resources. He established the interdisciplinary field combining engineering and thermochemistry, kick-started the research of micro-fluidized bed reaction analysis technology, and invented a DeNOx catalyst operable in a wide range of temperatures. He has successfully converted major innovations into commercial applications for 250 industrial installations and instrumental devices. He has received several top-class technical awards in engineering and greatly promoted international cooperation and exchanges.
