Professor Christopher Hancock is distinguished for outstanding contributions to medical engineering research, including the development and deployment of microwave and radiofrequency technology in clinical settings and techniques for minimally invasive surgery to successfully change treatment pathways and deliver better patient outcomes. Creo Medical has regulatory approval (CE and FDA) for a new electrosurgical platform and a family of gastrointestinal and pulmonary miniature flexible devices that have now been used to treat colon and pancreatic tumours with entirely successful outcomes. Over 1000 patients have now been treated. He is an inventor and author on over 1400 granted worldwide patents, international patent applications and academic journal publications.
