Moazzam Shamsi is a global expert in industrial automation, sensors, communications protocols, and solutions architectures for process manufacturing. He has developed multiple standards, tools and best practices that have been adopted industry-wide over the last 3 decades in support of mainstreaming emerging technologies. He sits on Emerson’s global leadership team for sensing and industrial connectivity and is actively deploying innovative technologies covering sensors, edge and cloud architectures whilst promoting emerging standards such as APL (Advanced Physical Layer) technologies that underpin the process industry’s exploitation of the IIoT. He privately undertakes compelling outreach work to promote STEM and engineering to under-represented and disadvantaged groups, with a unique emphasis on the positive impact of Muslim thinkers and inventions.
