Dr Uwe Stein FREng

Dr Uwe Stein is a key developer of digital displacement (DD) hydraulic machines, a technology that won the 2015 MacRobert Award. Uwe is a prolific inventor, named on more than 36 patent families. He is a team builder and motivator — not only in Artemis, a company he helped to build, but also at the University of Edinburgh. Uwe helped form the culture of Artemis, always leading by example. He is entrepreneurial, with two further successful start-ups — a company making speciality coffee equipment and another company developing heavy lifting, long-duration drones using DD technology.
