Chief Executive Officer, Materials Processing Institute 

Chris McDonald is a leader in engineering in the foundation industries.  As Chief Executive, he rescued the Materials Processing Institute, re-founding this 75-year-old national institution as a not-for-profit, saving 70 jobs.  He has since grown turnover by 50%. Chris has developed technologies for steel processing, reducing CO2 emissions and improving reliability.  He advises government on industry policy, and as Chair of the UK Metals Council is a powerful champion for the sector. He is an advocate for excellence, participation and diversity in engineering, in the media and through numerous advisory boards.
