Fascinated by computing since eleven, Richard is a complex systems architect with IBM. Combining creative talent with the ability to motivate large teams, he successively re-invented IT best practices for civilian biometrics, high volume websites, legacy modernisation and welfare delivery.
With an international reputation for innovative, on time deliveries, he became IBM Europe Public Sector CTO and was ultimately responsible for design and implementation of contracts worth $500M+ p.a. As President of IBM’s peer-elected Academy of Technology he currently inspires IBM's 200,000 strong technical workforce, whilst encouraging kids into STEM via his freely copiable low-cost component robot dog.
