Professor Kirill Horoshenkov FREng
Professor of Acoustics, University of Sheffield
Kirill Horoshenkov is an internationally renowned expert in acoustics. He develops new fundamental science and evidences it experimentally to provide industry and society with more efficient and sustainable engineering solutions, together with their practical implementations.
These solutions cover a range of problems, including acoustic materials used in noise control; new models for noise propagation outdoors; and remote sensing of open channel flows in rivers and buried pipes. He is a co-founder of two successful spin-out companies, Acoutechs (September 2000), and Acoustic Sensing Technology (February 2013), which exploit the results of his research with high impact.
