Professor Alice Gast FREng

Alice Gast is an outstanding chemical engineer with interests in surface and interfacial phenomena and the behaviour of complex fluids. Professor Gast’s work is very highly cited and she is the co-author of Physical Chemistry of Surfaces, a classic textbook on colloid and surface phenomena. She also has a first-class track record of industry collaboration and technology transfer.
She has worked at Stanford, MIT, was President of Lehigh and is currently President of Imperial College London. Her leadership has been recognised with numerous awards including election to the USA’s National Academy of Engineering (NAE).
