Professor Yike Guo FREng

Director of Data Science Institute and Professor of Computing Science, Imperial College London

A pioneer in technology for data-driven scientific research, Professor Yike Guo developed innovative workflow platforms for internet-based scientific data analysis, a key engineering achievement in the UK e-science programme. InforSense, his commercialised workflow system, was one of the most widely adopted analysis platforms in the life science industry.

He is the Technical Leader and a co-founder of the tranSMART Foundation, the international consortium to develop an open-source big data platform for translational medical research, currently used in the pharmaceutical industry and over 120 medical research institutes worldwide. He founded and directs the Data Science Institute at Imperial College London, with over £10 million of industrial investment.
