Professor Rachel Williams is a renowned bioengineer whose work on applying engineering techniques to the eye and mouth has had significant impact both in the UK and in developing countries. Her inventions are used to repair detached retinas and to reduce the incidence of oral disease.
Professor Williams’s cross-disciplinary work has been taken up by industry and has led to many national and international awards.
