Dr Peter Thompson is Chief Executive Officer of the National Physical Laboratory. In this and other roles, Dr Thompson has demonstrated exceptional ability to nurture and lead world-class organisations developing science, technology and engineering that meets strategic national priorities in social, economic, defence and security applications.

He has built crucial international partnerships and innovatively applied the combined resource to help the UK remain at the forefront for the longer term while also responding to near-term priorities. His leadership and achievements have been widely acclaimed.
