John MacArthur has made substantive contributions to engineering in the fields of oil and gas, and in particular in sustainability in the fields. He leads Shell’s Group Carbon strategy, climate change and energy policy, carbon innovation, and is Founding Chair of OGCI Climate Investments. He led development of the next generation of gas separation, gas to liquids, and liquefied natural gas technologies for Shell’s Integrated Gas business.
John MacArthur was also responsible for carbon abatement research and development, fluid flow and reactor engineering, and materials and construction technology within Shell, as well as leading Shell’s two technology centres in the Netherlands.
