Sir George Buckley is an outstanding engineer who held one of the most senior engineering leadership positions in the world as Chairman, President and CEO (2005 to 2012) of multinational conglomerate 3M, which at that time had over $30 billion annual sales, $100 billion market capitalisation and employed more than 100,000 staff worldwide, including 8,500 research and development staff in 32 laboratories worldwide. He is credited with rekindling innovation and growth at the iconic company.

Sir George is currently Chairman of the $11 billion revenue company Stanley Black & Decker and Chairman of the FTSE100 listed diversified engineering business Smiths Group plc, which has revenue of £3 billion. He is also a Board Member of Hitachi and PepsiCo.
